Microsoft’s Phone Link is available for Android and iPhone, while you can download its Windows version from the Microsoft store. And to use it on an iOS device, you will need Windows 11 running on your computer.

Universal Clipboard

When you are in the Apple ecosystem, the universal clipboard makes it incredibly easy to copy across devices. Phone Link has brought it to Duo, select Samsung and Honor devices. You can seamlessly transfer text and images between a supported Android device and Windows PC.

The same is not possible for Intel Unison, contrary to what made the headlines when it was first launched. There are no settings for it, as we checked thoroughly by installing it on three computers with Windows 11.

Files Transfer

This is where Phone Link adds extra steps to make it work while keeping it exclusive to select Samsung and Honor devices. First, you have to turn on the phone mirroring to see it on the Phone Link app on Windows. And do remember that this permission is not a one time as you have to request it and approve it on the phone for every session. Then it only covers photos from Gallery and files from the My Files app.

Intel Unison really shines here, as you can simply transfer files between Android and PC. Use the Unison app on Windows to send and receive ones through a simple drag and drop. Their mobile app can do the same with an identical interface to keep things simple.

Photo Gallery Access

Your phone is connected to the laptop or PC and all the photos are available on Phone Link and Intel Unison in the gallery tab. When you disconnect the Bluetooth, then Phone Link will stop right there while Unison continues to work.

What it means is that you can click photos from your phone and they will instantly appear on the Intel Unison app on the Windows PC. On the other hand, Phone Link will need you to reconnect Bluetooth to update the gallery with the new photos.

Phone Link also limits showing photos from the Android phone to the recent 2,000 items. So if you are going to dive deep into the gallery, then you might hit a wall. We could not find any similar media limit for Intel Unison.

Use Mobile Apps on PC

You can bid goodbye to Android emulators if you want to use apps on the PC. Again this is dependent upon the fact that you are using one of the supported Samsung or Honor devices.

Use the mirroring option and then use can the mobile apps on your Phone Link app on Windows. The frame rates are anywhere between 20 to 30 and inconsistent because it doesn’t feel very smooth on my monitor.

Intel Unison currently does not offer this feature, so you can use Phone Link if using Android apps is important to you.

Staying Connected with Windows

Phone Link offers a feature-rich connectivity experience with Windows. That is only possible when you have a select Android device, so it is subjective. On the other hand, if you want to seamlessly transfer files between the phone and the Windows PC then Intel Unison is your best bet.

Install Office on iPhone/iPad

1. Head to the app store and find Microsoft 365 (Office). Tap get to install it on your device.
2. Once finished installing, launch the app.
3. Sign in to your Microsoft account with the login credentials. If you are already signed into another Microsoft app on the phone, it will find the account and automatically log you in.
   
   

Getting started with Microsoft 365 on iPhone

Let us get started from the top of the home screen, where you land after logging in.

• Tap on the search bar and you can find any file on the OneDrive, Teams group where you are part of. You can search in files, media, notes, and voice captures.
  There are filters by file type where you can select for all or individual for – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, Voice Captures, and Images.
  
• Below the search bar is the vertical scrolling bar that lets you quick-access different categories like Scans, PDD, Word files, and more.
  
• Go further down and tap Find to let Microsoft 365 search for supported files on your iPhone or iPad. All the documents and other support files will appear in the app, becoming viewable and editable(in most cases).
  
  

Using the Create Button

The create button at the bottom lets you create new Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF files and Forms.

You can also scan documents and record voice notes that will be saved to your attached OneDrive account.

PDF to Word and Back

You can convert word files to PDF documents with a single tap. Also, you can convert PDF documents to word files.

Sign a PDF

Sign a PDF comes in handy when you want to sign an important document, generally involving legal and other agreement matters. You can open a PDF file , then tap More and select Signature mode.

Next, tap on the area where you want to sign and then you will need to create a new signature.

And then create a signature using your fingers or a supported stylus. After that, click the check button to sign the PDF document.

Using Microsoft 365 on iPhone

You can get started with Microsoft 365 on your iPhone for free on the basic plan with limited features. And when you hit a wall with them, there is always the option to upgrade

There can be various reasons why the Amazon Appstore is not working on your computer. A few of the key causes behind it:

• Not Available in Your Region – Amazon Appstore is still expanding to new regions and countries. Therefore, it may not be available in your region yet. You can check here if your country has made it to the availability list yet.
• Windows Subsystem for Android – The appstore needs Windows Subsystem for Android(WSA) installed on your Windows 11 PC. It is also needed for running Android apps that will be installed through the Amazon Appstore.
• Virtual Machine Platform is unavailable – The Virtual Machine platform is not working because it has been turned off from the BIOS setting. This generally happens when you reset/flash BIOS which returns all the settings to the default value.

1. Change Region

If you are not living in one of the supported regions, then we will need to change the location to the US or any of the supported countries or regions.

Make sure that you have an Amazon account from the supported region, as it will be needed to log into the Amazon Appstore.

1. Press Windows + I to launch the settings app.
2. Head to Time & Langauge from the settings.
   
3. Then head to Language & Region from the options on the right.
   
4. Now select the United States from the dropdown menu in Country and Region.
   
   It will download language and other required files in a couple of seconds for the applying region changes.
   
   This should make Amazon Appstore appear in the Microsoft store and be available for you to install.

2. Enable Virtual Machine Platform

The Amazon Appstore and WSA run on a virtual machine, an inbuilt feature in Windows 11 and 10. You can enable it in the following manner.

1. Open the Start Menu search, type Turn Windows features on or off and head to the first result.
   
2. Tick Virtual Machine Platform and then click OK to save changes.
   

The required files for the feature will be downloaded and then you can restart the computer to apply the changes. This will enable a virtual machine platform on your Windows 11 PC.

3. Manually install Windows Subsystem for Android

Normally you should be able to install WSA from the Microsoft Store. However, it is not working for everyone due to a variety of reasons. But fret not; you can manually install Windows Subsystem for Android.

Using this method, you will first download the msixbundle and then launch it to install it like a regular application.

4. Clear Cache of Amazon Appstore

When you have managed to install Amazon Appstore and used it for a while but it suddenly has stopped launching altogether. You can possibly make it work it by clearing cache in the following manner.

1. Search Amazon Appstore in the Start Menu search and right-click to open Appstore’s menu and select App settings.
   
2. Head to Storage & Cache.
   
3. Click Clear Storage to delete locally stored files for the Amazon Appstore.
   
4. Restart your computer and open the Amazon Appstore. It should open without any problem.

Fixing Amazon Appstore on Windows 11

You can fix Amazon Appstore by ensuring that all the basic checks are in place. Windows virtualization needs to be turned on for WSA and the Appstore to work.

Microsoft is continuously expanding the regions for Amazon Appstore but you can manually install it while waiting for the official release. Make sure to have an Amazon account from the supported region to log into the app store.

Watchdog violations are a common error on Windows 10 and can happen for a variety of reasons. The primary reason for this error is attributed to faulty storage problems but can stem from other reasons as well.

What is DPC Watchdog Violation?

A DPC (Deferred Procedure Call) Watchdog Violation is a BSOD that occurs on a Windows computer when something goes wrong with the way certain computer hardware or software is working. This can cause the computer to stop functioning correctly, and you might see a blue screen with an error message.

Think of it like a watchdog, who is supposed to keep an eye on things and make sure they are working properly. If the watchdog sees a program or application is taking too long or not working correctly, it will give an error message to let you know there is a problem.

The most common cause of the DPC Watchdog violation is the outdated drivers of SSD and GPU which result in performance issues. They can cause conflicts amongst components, leading to a BSOD.

Let us go with one solution at a time to rule out all the possibilities and find the real reason behind the DPC Watchdog error.

1. Remove All External Devices

Since it is reported that this error can occur primarily occurs when Windows 10 stops responding to a component, you should rule out the problem with the connected devices. Remove all the devices like external drives, flash drives, scanners, and even printers. 

Restart the computer and go about your day to see if the DPC watchdog makes a reappearance as a BSOD. 

If the error stops appearing after the removal, then one of the connections was the reason for the error. You can connect one external device at a time to find out the real culprit. 

2. Check the Storage Components 

Note – This is an advanced resolution method and you may require an expert’s help in checking the hard drives and other storage. If you are inexperienced in dealing with hardware components, then you should skip this step.

If you have installed a new storage component like a hard drive or an SSD. Or, when you have been using the same storage for a long period, then they might be at fault. 

Turn off the power from the power supply and check the wires and slots for faults or dust. Put them back in after carefully cleaning them with a dry cloth without static discharge.

3. Check for Viruses 

Certain dangerous viruses can cause instability in the operating system. If you have a third-party anti-virus on the computer, then it is time to do a full and comprehensive scan which can take hours.

On the other hand, Windows 10 has an inbuilt security suite known as Windows Security. You can use it to perform a full computer scan in the following way.

1. Search Windows Security and head to the first result.

2. Click Scan now button under Virus & threat protection.

3. Select Scan Options from the list of options.

4. Now select Full Scan from the list of scan options and then click Scan Now to begin the scanning process.

5. The scan process will take several minutes to hours depending on the size of your storage.

If threats are detected then take the suggested action. Then restart the PC and resume working on the computer it while observing for problems. 

4. Update IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller Drivers

Note – If you have NVMe-based SSDs installed and there is no option for expansion through SATA storage, then chances are that IDE ATA(Advanced Technology Attachment)/ATAPI(Advanced Technology Attachment Packet Interface) may not be present on your computer so you can skip this solution. 

Many modern PCs come with an in-built SATA controller and do not require IDE ATA/ATAPI controller. 

IDE ATA or ATAPI Controller is a type of technology that allows your computer to connect and communicate with storage devices such as hard drives and CD/DVD drives. Think of it as the bridge between your computer and these storage devices.

When you save a file or install a program, your computer sends data to the storage device. The IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller helps make sure that this data is sent and received correctly. 

The problem happens when the controller is not working properly and can lead to a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSOD. Many users have reported that iastor.sys, a driver for computers with Intel RST (Rapid Storage Technology) app is causing the issue due to incompatibilities. 

Other users have sotrahci.sys, which is developed by Microsoft for use on the computer when no other controller is installed. Here is how you can update the driver for either of them to fix the Watchdog error. 

1. Press the Window key + X together on your keyboard to open the quick link menu in the Start Menu icon and then select Device Manager from the list.

2. Find IDE ATA/ATAPI controller from the list.

3. Double-click to open IDE ATA/ATAPI controller and you will find either Standard SATA AHCI Controller or the one by Intel in the list of options. 

If you can’t find the one from Intel, then right-click on Standard SATA AHCI Controller and select Update Driver.

4. Select the second option Browser my computer for drivers and you will move to the next step.

5. Select Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer to proceed.

6. Up next, select Standard SATA AHCI Controller and then click next to move forward.

7. Now, the drivers will be installed in a couple of seconds to minutes. 

8. You will get confirmation about the driver update on the screen.

9. Reboot your computer to make sure that the new driver is loaded and working as intended.

5. Update SSD’s Firmware (if present)

Solid State Drive (SSD) is a revolutionary step forward in storage that has drastically improved computer performance and speed in general. You will find them on most performance-focused computers. 

But did you ever think of updating its firmware? Perhaps the manufacturer released a newer driver for the SSD which can fix the incompatibilities that have sprouted after the recent Windows update.

Let us go back to the device manager and update the firmware of the SSD in the following manner.

1. Press the Windows key + X on your PC and head to the Device Manager.

2. Find Disk Drives from the list of components and double-click to expand the items under it.

3. Right-click on the SSD and select Update Driver.

4. Select Search automatically for drivers to let Windows look on the internet for the latest drivers.

5. The latest drivers will be installed if available else you will receive a prompt informing you that the latest drivers for the SSD are already installed.

6. Scan System Files

Your Windows system files can be corrupted or damaged due to reasons like power failure, abrupt shutdown, etc. They can act up and cause DPC Watchdog issues. You can repair system corruptions using the SFC utility, which is a built-in utility in Windows that scans and repairs system files. Here is how you can fix it using a command of the utility.

1. Open the run prompt by pressing Alt + R on the keyboard.

2. Type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open the elevated command prompt with administrator rights. 

3. Type the following command and press enter.

Note – The character case does not have an effect on the command execution. It can be small, capital, or a combination of both.

4. The SFC utility will perform the scan and it can take up to 10 minutes on slower hard drives.

Note – You can double-click on the command prompt window to pause the process. Press enter to resume the operation.

5. You will get the message Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them when corrupted or damaged files are found. 

6. Close the command prompt and then restart the computer to complete the SFC utility process. 

7. Restart Power Supply (for desktops with wireless adapters)

Many users shut down their PC but leave the power on from the UPS. Some do it to illuminate their room with the computer’s RGB, while others don’t give a second thought about turning off the power.

The wireless adapters for WiFi and/or Bluetooth can get corrupted and stop functioning properly. This can behind be a reason for the  DPC Watchdog BSOD. 

A simple flick of the power supply switch can resolve the issue. Turn off the switch for a minute and then switch it back on to see if it has fixed the error.

8. Update Windows

Windows is infamous for breaking things on the computer and often causes inconvenience to the user, who has to scrape the internet to fix the issue. This DPC Watchdog violation can be a result of a broken update.

Microsoft is also quick to push a remedial update that fixes most things. Therefore you should look to update Windows in the following manner.

1. Press the Windows key + I on the keyboard to open the settings menu.

2. Click on the Windows Update at the top or Update & Security option to access the updates dashboard.

3. Click the Check for Updates button and Windows will check for the latest available updates. 

You can see the available update that can be installed through the Download and install. 

4. You will see a Restart Now button once the update is downloaded. Restart the computer and the update will be installed in a couple of minutes. 

9. System Restore

It becomes increasingly difficult to work as DPC Watchdog violations error take over the computer. You don’t feel confident using it for important work as it can be lost in a moment’s time. If you want a time machine to go back in time to when the computer was working without any problem, then System Restore is your answer. 

System Restore is a feature in Windows that allows you to go back to a previous version of your computer’s settings, programs, and system files. Think of it like a “undo” button for your computer.

Before making any significant changes to your system, Windows automatically creates a restore point. If you encounter a problem with your system, you can use System Restore to go back to a previous restore point in the following manner.

1. Search System Protection in the Start menu and select Create a restore point from the results.

2. Go to System Restore under the System Protection tab.

3. Select Next with the recommended restore point by Windows. If you want to explore a different restore point then select Choose a different restore point.

4. Again click Next to get started with the system restore process.

5. Provide confirmation by selecting Yes and then Windows will start restoring to the selected restore point.

10. Reinstall Windows

You have tried everything up till this point and now it is time to restart with a clean slate. Reinstall Windows on the system partition and you will have a fresh start on the computer with zero third-party applications installed.

Install necessary drives and applications to take it slow while observing for any bumps along the way. Make sure to backup data of the system partition (Generally C drive) before moving forward with Windows installation.

These errors can range from minor glitches to critical issues that require immediate attention. Fortunately, most Microsoft Teams errors can be fixed with some simple troubleshooting techniques. In this article, we will explore some common Microsoft Teams errors and provide step-by-step instructions on how to fix them.

1. Check Your Internet

To keep your email accounts in sync, Microsoft Teams depends on your phone’s internet connection. Therefore, if your phone’s internet connection stops working, the Teams app on Android will also stop functioning, preventing you from sending or receiving emails through the app. Switch off the mobile data and turn it back again if you are using it.

And if you are connected to the WiFi, then try to open Google.com in a web browser. If it is not opening, then first switch off the WiFi on the phone and then turn it back on. When even that is not working, restart the router for any issues.

2. Check App Permissions

Checking app permissions in Microsoft Teams is important to ensure that the app has the necessary access to features and data to function properly. Reviewing and managing app permissions may help to resolve issues with the app not working correctly and improve the security of your Teams account.

1. Long-press on the Microsoft Team’s icon and then head to the App Info icon.
   
2. Head to the Permissions section from the App info.
   
3. Give permission to every component by manually turning it on for each one.
   
4. Then check if Microsoft Teams is working properly.

3. Clear Temporary Files from the Teams App

When you have been using Microsoft Teams for a long time, it will gather a lot of data, especially temporary files. They can become corrupt and may result in slower performance or prevent you from using certain features.

1. Tap on the profile picture in the Teams app.
   
2. Then go to Settings from the sidebar, which opens up from the left.
   
3. Head to Data and Storage from the general section.
   
4. Scroll down and tap Clear temporary files.
   
5. A prompt will appear confirming that the files have been cleared.
   

After that restart the app and see if the issues have been fixed.

4. Disable Battery Optimization

Smartphones use a lot of battery power for managing everything. Android has a battery usage feature to enhance battery life by restricting how apps consume power when running in the background.

You can disable battery optimization for Microsoft Teams and see if fixes the underlying problems.

1. Long-press the Microsoft Teams icon and head to the App info through the shortcut.
   
2. Scroll down and go to Battery.
   
3. Set the battery to unrestricted. Some phones will have unoptimized instead of unrestricted.
   
4. Restart the app and check if the problems are solved.

5. Disable Reduce Data Usage

Microsoft Teams has a data feature that is designed to work on slower as well as capped internet connections. This may reduce the quality of video and audio calls of your meetings. But the good news is that it can be disabled.

1. Tap on your profile picture in the Microsoft Teams app
   
2. Select settings from the sidebar.
   
3. Go to Data and storage from the General section.
   
4. Then tap on Reduce data usage
   
5. Select Never and the check symbol will appear next to it.
   
6. After that head back and attend video meetings in a regular fashion. This should fix any issue pertaining to video quality.

However, if this does not fix the issues with video meetings then perhaps you should check the internet speed.

6. Uninstall Microsoft Authenticator App

Microsoft authenticator can throw in errors that will prevent you from logging into the Teams app. That is what a user found in the Microsoft forum so they uninstalled it and that fixed the problem for a number of people. Here is how you can remove the authenticator app.

1. Long-press the Microsoft Teams icon, and then tap Uninstall.
   
2. Then click OK to confirm uninstallation through the prompt.
   

7. Reset the App Database

Microsoft Teams stores a lot of information in its database on your device for a variety of purposes. It may get corrupted over time and a reset can fix the issue. Here is how it is done.

1. Head to Data Storage from the Settings.
2. Scroll down to the storage section and tap Reset database.
   
3. It will be completed in a couple of seconds and then you will land on the Team’s home screen. Then check if the issue has been resolved.

8. Reinstall Microsoft Teams

When nothing else works, it might be time to uninstall and then install Teams back again. Install it from the Play Store and then observe if that has solved the problem.

If that is also not solving the issue, then you might want to try installing Microsoft Teams on a different phone. That can help you check if there is an issue with the phone.

3. Scroll down in the chosen email account’s settings and select reset account.

4. Confirm the action by tapping continue and then your account will be reset. This will also restart the account and all your settings on the Outlook app for this email account will reset. You will get a fresh start and this should fix the Outlook problem.

Nokia launches budget phones and unveils a new logo

HMD Global, parent of Nokia, unveiled a new logo of the phone company for the first time in nearly 60 years. The message is clear that they are moving away from a smartphone centric business to a technology company. Their logo has five different shapes forming the Nokia logo.

Nokia has forayed into the budget segment with their three new phones – G22, C32 and C22, launching this Spring. The G22 will come the DIY-repairability, thanks to their partnership with iFixit, which will provide the necessary tools and guides to help replace a port in 5 minutes and a screen in 20, as claimed by the company. Their repair tools will offers a range of replacement parts for the Nokia G22, with prices starting from £18.99 (approximately $23) for a new charging port and going up to £44.99 (approximately $54) for a replacement display.

The G22 will be available from 8th March in UK and select Europe countries for €179 around $180, and will not be sold in the US for now.

HMD has developed the Nokia C32 with the aim to provide better photography features in affordable phones by adding in a 50MP camera. Not only that, but the C22 and C32 models are also designed to maintain the same durability and long battery life that modern Nokia phones are known for. According to HMD, both phones have toughened glass, sleek designs, and a battery life that can last up to 3 days. These impressive features are not typically found in low-cost smartphones.

Xiaomi with 13 and 13 Pro

The Chinese technology giant has also launched its Watch S1 Pro in international markets, six months after its debut in China. The smartwatch features a 1.47-inch AMOLED display, sapphire glass protection, and 5 ATM water resistance, and is available in two stainless steel finishes with a black fluoro rubber strap or brown leather strap. The device is priced at €299.99 (around $317) in the Eurozone and £299 (around $414) in the UK, and boasts a 500 mAh battery that can last up to 14 days between charges. The smartwatch runs on a proprietary OS, and pricing varies across regions.

Lenovo into Rollable Displays

Lenovo has just unveiled its latest ThinkPads and IdeaPads with rollable displays at MWC 2023. However, it turns out that the rollable displays are still in the concept stage, so they won’t be available anytime soon.

But we did get a closer look at the prototype of the Motorola rollable smartphone, which is pretty thick in its current form and has an unusual aspect ratio when not extended. However, its display mechanism is fascinating, with a part of its screen acting as a secondary display or a selfie viewer for its dual rear cameras.

Of course, we can’t guarantee that the first-gen Motorola rollable smartphone will look like the prototype, but it’s exciting to see that Lenovo is making progress with its next-gen display tech. The concept laptop is also impressive, with its stable and balanced ability to grow from 12 to 16 inches vertically.

OnePlus 11 Concept with Liquid Cooling

OnePlus has revealed more details about its OnePlus 11 Concept prototype, which features glowing rear LED canals that use liquid cooling technology. The system, called Active CryoFlux, includes actual pumps that push liquid through the canals, and can reduce temperatures by 2.1°C and improve frame rates by 3-4 fps, according to the company. Additionally, the system can reduce charging temperatures by 1.6°C, which can shave off about 30-45 seconds of charging time. OnePlus is also showcasing its 45W Liquid Cooler, a semiconductor-based thermoelectric cooler that can reduce a device’s temperature by 20°C.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Satellite

Xiaomi and Honor have showcased their latest flagship devices, while Qualcomm has announced that its upcoming Snapdragon processors may feature Satellite connectivity. Unlike Apple’s current feature-set, the next-gen devices are expected to support recreational messaging for those in rural, remote, or off-shore settings, as well as an emergency measure for those who find themselves isolated and in need of help.

This service is expected to be compatible with every 5G-capable Qualcomm mobile system-on-chip (SoC) for smartphones, from entry-level to top-tier models, gradually over time. Upcoming smartphone upgrades, such as the OPPO Find X5 Pro, Vivo X Note, Honor Magic5, and Xiaomi 13 series, may feature this technology.

In addition, Qualcomm has confirmed that next-gen Motorola Edge-series smartphones and the upcoming Nothing phone (2) may also be compatible with Snapdragon Satellite. However, users may have to pay a monthly fee to use this service, similar to the Bullitt messaging service offered by the competing MediaTek platform.

If you are interested in using OneDrive on your Android device, you are in luck. Installing and configuring OneDrive is a quick and easy process that takes just a few minutes. In this article, we will first install OneDrive app and then walk you through the steps to set up OneDrive on your Android device.

Install OneDrive on Android

1. Install OneDrive from the Play Store.

2. Launch the app on the phone and key in your Microsoft account credentials.

You can also create a new account if this is your first time using OneDrive. Or, if you don’t want to sign in yet, you can give permission and see all your photos on the app.

3. You will land in the Home tab and you will seem files from your OneDrive. If you have just created an account, then it will be empty. You can use the Take a Tour to learn the basics of the app.

Upload a file on OneDrive

Upoading a file to OneDrive on your Android phone is easy.

1. Tap on the plus button at the top and you will see list of options.

2. Select upload to upload a file from your phone. You can then upload files up to 250 GB in size. You can also upload files directly into folder or sub-folders.

Make Files Available Offline on OneDrive

You can always download files from the cloud. But when you are working with someone on file/folder, then its newer version may become available over the time. Thats when need to make your files available offline.

This will let you access them without internet and the file will get updated with the latest version when the device connects to the internet.

1. Tap on the three-vertical-dots given next to a file/folder.

2. Slide the button to Make available offline. Then you can access the file without internet through the app. It will be updated to a newer(if possible) the next time you are correct to the internet. You can remove them from offline access by tapping the make available offline button again.

3. Your files marked for offline view will appear below recent files in the Offline files section.

Add Camera Photos to OneDrive

Google only offers 15 GB of free space for people who don’t opt for its One membership. And it really is not enough when you click a few pictures and recieve few media files from others. Even the device space fills up real fast when you have 20-30 odd apps on the smartphone. Therefore, you can set up OneDrive to load all the photos to its cloud and free up the space on the phone.

1. Head to the Photos tab.

2. Tap on the Turn ON button, given under the Camera upload is off prompt. This will start the photos and videos upload process, and the total time will depend upon your upload speed.

You can disable Camera backup by heading to the Settings > Camera Backup > Turn off Backup.

Scan and Upload Documents to OneDrive

Just like Google Drive, you can directly scan documents using phone’s camera and then upload to OneDrive.

1. Tap the camera button which is located at the bottom.

2. Give permission to the OneDrive app to use the phone’s camera to the documents.

3. A rectangular box on will try to find a docment through the lens. When you have the content inside the box, capture it through the button.

4. Then adjust the borders to crop out the unwanted area and then tap confirm.

5. After that you can make the final changes through the editing tools. You can scan more pages through the Add button and then click Done to create a PDF of the scanned documents.

Add files to a Secure Vault on OneDrive

Your device may be used by the kids for games or a friend might use it for calling a cab. Its always better to be careful with important documents that you cannot afford to be viewed by others. A secure vault on OneDrive can help you keep all the important safe and away from anyone who might use your device.

1. Head to Files and tap Personal Vault.

2. Tap Continue to move forward.

3. Now lets start the process of verifying your identity by first re-entering the password.

4. Then, enter a code through one of the authentication options.

5. After that you will have to type in a 6-digit pin. You will need that to enter for accessing the vault.

You can scan any kind of document to add it directly to the vault. Along with that, other files and folders can be moved to the vault.
