Perhaps you don’t like the new operating system as you’d you would. Or maybe it’s not working as you had planned it would work on your computer. Whatever the reason, with a few tweaks, you can uninstall your Windows 11 operating system with ease.

There are two main ways to go about this. In this article, we will take a deep dive into both methods.

How to uninstall Windows 11

If you were late to the party and have installed Windows 11 only recently, then consider yourself lucky. Why? Because a new Windows 11 installation comes with what’s called a ten-day rollback period. So, if you are within that timeline, then you are in luck.

Here’s how you can get started with the uninstallation:

  1. Head to the Start menu search bar, type in ‘settings,’ and select the best match.
  2. On the Settings menu, select Windows update.
  3. Click on Advanced options.
  4. Select Recovery and then click on the Go back button.

Plug in your charger and follow the remaining onscreen steps. Give it a few minutes, and Windows 11 will successfully roll back to Windows 10.

Uninstall Windows 11 through Windows 10 ISO

If you have gone beyond the 10-day rollback limit, though, then you will have to go about this in a roundabout way through the Windows 10 ISO. In brief, you have to install Windows 10 through an ISO on top of Windows 11.

Here’s how you can get started:

  • Get the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from the official Microsoft download page.
  • Launch the tool on your Windows 11.
  • Choose the option to create installation media on another PC, and click on Next.
  • Select the ISO file and click on Next.
  • Choose a location to save your file.
  • Let your Windows 10 download the file.
  • Click on Finish to complete your download.

Finally, launch the ISO file and follow the instructions to complete your download. In a few minutes, your Windows 11 will be uninstalled, and you will return to using Windows 10.

Uninstalling your Windows 11 with ease

Removing your Windows 11 is often the easiest when you are still in the 10-day rollback period. Once you cross that time, you will have to rely on a few extra steps, though nothing big. But whatever the present state of your Windows 11, if you follow one of the methods above, uninstalling your Windows 11 will be fine.
