Happy Friday folks! And with that, you already know the drill. It’s time for the weekly roundup of some of the key features that were announced as coming to the Microsoft 365 suite. Here’s everything you need to know:

Introducing OneDrive Home, the New Landing Experience

Microsoft has announced significant changes set to come to OneDrive. First, it has revamped OneDrive’s Commercial Web landing experience. Users will be able to access files they’re working on easily and quickly once this new experience ships.

According to Microsoft:

The new OneDrive Home experience surfaces your most recently used files, along with relevant file activity, so you can see everything at a glance and quickly prioritize where to start working.

OneDrive on the web will be able to make use of OneDrive Home to find and open files they’ve recently interacted with. The files will be arranged based on when you last opened them, with the latest one at the top of the list.

What’s more, you’ll have the capability to filter the list by file type to enhance accessibility and easy identification. you can also track the changes made on the file with Activity.

The feature is expected to hit general availability towards the end of this month.

Send to Kindle feature shipping

Users will also be able to send documents from Microsoft Word (Win32, Web, Mac) to the Kindle e-reader device or Kindle app. The feature tagged 117542 in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap is expected to start rolling out in mid-April and hit general availability by mid-May.

Email notifications for “Issues in your environment that require action”

Back in 2021, Microsoft introduced a new section to the service health page in the Microsoft 365 admin center dubbed “Issues in your environment that require action.” The section is specifically designed to highlight issues that might be affecting your organization and Microsoft isn’t the cause.

These kinds of issues require immediate attention from the IT admin since the issue is emanating from within the organization itself. However, it’s easy to miss these messages.

Microsoft has announced that it’s introducing a new feature tagged 103631 in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap that will send out an email automatically to the admin every time a new issue arises and is posted to the admin center to ensure that it is resolved in a timely manner.

It will start rolling out at the beginning of May and hit general availability by mid-June.
