What is the Windows Troubleshooter, and how you can make the most out of it

The Windows operating system isn’t exactly known for its lack of bugs and zero-fault user experience. Although Microsoft has made tremendous strides over the last decade, the OS is still often susceptible to random bugs and errors. 

Thankfully, you’ve plenty of tools and methods at your disposal that can safely get you out of any troubles you might generally find yourself in; the troubleshooter is another such handy tool.

Built by Microsoft, the Troubleshooter is, at its most basic, a collection of small programs which tackle different sets of problems that arise on the Windows operating system. 

In this article, we’ll show you the plethora of tools that come under the Troubleshooter and then help you fix different kinds of problems they exist fix to. So let’s get started.

How to fix bugs with Windows Troubleshooter

To fix different problems with the Troubleshooter, you’ll first have to launch the Windows Settings. Follow the steps below to get started:

  1. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings menu. Alternatively, head to the Start menu search bar, type in ‘settings,’ and select the best match.
  2. Click on Update & security and select Troubleshoot

On the next screen, you’ll see various troubleshooters to select and run from. You have a separate troubleshooter for everything from Printer, Windows Update, and Keyboard to Camera, Audio, and so on.

Let’s say, for example, that this time, it’s the Windows Store that’s giving you the trouble. In this case, you can use the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter from the available options, to try and fix the bug right away. To get started, click on the Run button in front of the Windows Store Apps; as soon as you do this, the troubleshooter will begin the scan.

Let’s take another example. This time let’s look at the Windows Update. Similar to what you did above, click on the Run button in front of Windows Update and the troubleshooter will begin looking for errors; if it finds any corruptions with the software, it will try to fix them then and there.

In a similar fashion, you can use the different shades of individual troubleshooters available under the umbrella troubleshooter on Windows.
