In its latest update for Xbox Cloud Gaming, the team at Microsoft has implemented performance improvements for users of the service on Linux and Chrome OS.

Principal Product Manager Lead for xCloud Services Jim Cohen announced the changes via a Reddit post.

As you saw in the post, gamers playing on Linux through a browser and Chrome OS should be seeing better resolutions and a smoother game streaming experience. Cohen did not elaborate on exactly what sort of technology was implemented to realize these enhancements.

This should be particularly exciting news for gamers on devices like Valve’s Steam Deck and the Logitech Gaming Handheld, both of which can run Xbox Cloud Gaming.
