We’ve gotten a much closer look at the upcoming day-one Game Pass title Atomic Heart thanks to a new gameplay overview trailer. One of the most anticipated Xbox games of early 2023, Atomic Heart is a first-person shooter/action-roleplaying game set in 1955 Russia, in an alternate reality where the Collective—a “neural network of assistant AI robots”—forms the backbone of a utopian society. Or at least until things go haywire…

Honestly, it looks a little like Bioshock-meets-Wolfenstein-meets-Fallout, but with its own gorgeous retro-futuristic twist. Despite being billed as a gameplay trailer, the video also gives an in-depth look at the game’s lore and plot points. The world of Atomic Heart appears to be one that is both original and fully realized, judging from what was unveiled in the trailer. Needless to say those who’ve had an eye on this game will be more eager than ever to get their hands on it.

Atomic Heart is already available for pre-order. The game launches on February 21st for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.
