Up until recently, Microsoft’s Phone Link app could only be used to pair an Android device to a Windows PC leaving iPhone users out of the equation. However, at the beginning of this year, the company expanded the app’s support to iPhone users in preview.
Microsoft started rolling out a new update for the app to all Windows 11 customers in 39 languages across 85 countries in phases back in April and also promised that all Windows 11 users would have access to the iPhone support in Phone Link by mid-May. And true to its words, the new update is available for all Windows 11 users across 85 countries.

This means that all Windows 11 customers can now send and receive messages via iMessage, make and receive calls, and check notifications from any app installed on their iPhones directly from their Windows PC.
It’s very apparent that the capability to link your iPhone to a Windows PC has been a much-anticipated feature. However, it should be noted that you might not be able to access all the iMessage features you love just yet on your PC.
For instance, the update doesn’t support group messaging, it’s currently limited to one-on-one chats. What’s more, users won’t be allowed to send images, audio, or video.
Additionally, the Phone Link won’t be able to tell a normal text message apart from an iMessage. This means that the chat bubbles won’t be categorized into two: green chat bubbles representing normal text messages and blue chat bubbles representing messages from iMessage.
